Mission Center
Contributing to the dynamic and supportive campus, the Art Department offers Art History courses including Ancient Art & Architecture of Latin America and History of Modern Art as well as studio art courses such as Basic Design and Basic Drawing.
Legion of Honor
Art history classes at the Legion of Honor offer students a unique opportunity to study the history of art among some of the world’s greatest paintings and sculptures in the Beaux-arts building that is located in Lincoln Park.
Students explore the museum’s stellar collection of European art with art historians in a variety of classes ranging from ancient to modern art. Specially arranged tours with instructors and museum docents make the discovery of art, history, and culture an enriching experience. Classes are held in the luxurious and elegantly refurbished Gunn Theater located next to the museum café.
Come join a City College class at the Legion of Honor and receive a year-long pass to the general collections of the Legion and the de Young Museum in Golden Gate Park.
