CCPT is a collaboration among City College, San Francisco Unified School District, SF Mayor's Office, and local industry to develop clear K-14 career pathways.

Through a grant from the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office, City College was selected to implement the (CCPT) project. ÃÈ·µ¼º½â€™s role is to lead a consortium of organizations in strengthening ICT and Biotech programs. Outcomes include increasing enrollment, particularly from underrepresented populations, creating additional work-based experiences for students, and ensuring access for students who are currently in high school and upon graduation.

SFCCPT Goals

Goals of the San Francisco California Career Pathways Trust Grant (CCPT)

  • Build robust partnerships between employers, schools, and community colleges to better prepare students for the current workplace.
  • Improve transitions from high school to community college to career success.

Target Pathways in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and Biotechnology (Biotech)

  • High-growth, high demand, high wage jobs.
  • Jobs attainable with completion of a two-year CTE program at the community college level—ICT and Biotech are the two chosen pathways.

Innovations for ICT and Biotech Pathways

  • Academies already present at SFUSD. Adding multiple points of entry for students interested in careers in biotech and ICT in addition to the academies at the high school level.
  • Multiple Departments at ÃÈ·µ¼º½ involved in the project: CNIT, CS, BEMA, VMD (all four are ICT) and Biotech. All departments offer certificates, AS degrees, and are in high growth sectors of the economy.
  • Multiple entry and exit points for a student to enter the workforce or continue their education at the post-secondary level.

Targeted Outcomes

  • Increase number of students enrolled in the career pathway program, especially underrepresented students.
  • Increase the number of students involved in work based learning experiences at both the high school and community college level.
  • Increase the number of students receiving early college credit in each of the pathways.
