Support for Students, By Students

Students Supporting Students (S cube) is a student-initiated program established to provide peer mentoring, course retention, and community service for under-served communities at ÃÈ·µ¼º½. Our mission is to increase the transfer rates of students to four-year universities and to empower marginalized students and communities on campus.

Our Programs & Services
Peer Mentoring
Peer Mentors are on site to give you one-on-one advice on how to transfer, get financial assistance, or get involved in your community.
A Place To Study
SCube has computers available to do class work, print-out papers, or do internet research.
Academic Workshops
SCube holds workshops throughout the semester on topics like How to Transfer, How to Write Your Personal Statement, Legitimate Hustlin' ( for free resources ), Study Skills, and Resume & Cover Letter Writing.
Student Activites & Club Support
SCube connects students to their communities both on and off campus. We organize field trips where you can learn about what's going on in the community and hook you up with other student clubs.

Organizing & Advocacy
SCube organizes and advocates for social justice and student equity for low-income, students of color. We have led marches to Sacramento to demand funding for schools not prisons, student walk-outs to fight tuition increases, and advocate for Ethnic Studies and culturally relevant student services.

We Believe That...

  • Under-represented students must be organized to play an active decision-making role in their education
  • Student awareness of themselves and their community is a factor in academic achievement.
  • Students must question & think critically about society in order to make conscious decisions about themselves & their future.
  • Students must learn to turn ideas into action in order to grow personally, develop skills, and solve the problem of retention.
