Dear College Community,

In March 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, City College of San Francisco transitioned to remote operations for substantially all of its academic, administrative, and non-essential facilities services. During the months that followed, more has been learned about the novel coronavirus and, as a result, public health guidance has evolved since we first temporarily paused in-person operations.

As of June 15, 2021, the Governor terminated his Stay-at-Home executive order and phased out other executive orders put in place since March 2020, which included physical distancing requirements, capacity limits on businesses, and the County tier system. Similarly, on June 15, 2021, the San Francisco Department of Public Health rescinded its Stay-at-Home order.

In recognition of the current State and City Public Health directives, and the vaccine mandate resolution unanimously adopted by our Board of Trustees on August 12, 2021, in order to best serve the City College Community, the College will begin a phased in return to full in-person operations beginning October 1, 2021. Supervisors will communicate schedule details by October 1st to their department faculty and staff. Employees requesting accommodation to remain off-campus should contact Sr. Director Mildred Otis in Human Resources. Fall 2021 classes that are currently online or remote will continue in that mode.

Further information regarding vaccination requirements will be provided later this week. We are looking forward to a safe return of our students, staff, and faculty back to our campuses and continuing to build and strengthen our vibrant community.

Yours sincerely,
