Instructor Bio
I've been teaching at ÃÈ·µ¼º½ since 2007. I served the college as a site supervisor from 2005 to 2016.
I believe that community is central to learning. For that reason, I foster a supportive learning community in all my classes. Through participation in this classroom community, students develop skills that allow them fuller community participation at school, at work, in their neighborhoods, and in the Bay Area.
I currently serve on the the Executive Council of the Academic Senate, and I have served on the ESL Department's Non-Credit Curriculum and Technology Committees. In addition, I have been production editor of the ESL Department's newsletter, the ESLetter. I have been site supervisor of the college's Castro, Southeast, and Ocean Campuses.
I am a member of TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages), CATESOL (California TESOL), CCAE (California Council for Adult Education), and COABE (Commission for Adult Basic Education). I am active in TESOL's LGBT Professional Learning Network, formerly the ILGBTF (International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Friends) Forum.
In my free time, I like to take long walks and explore the fascinating city of San Francisco.
