Dear College Community,
With California in a state of drought, this weekend’s rain was very much welcomed. Hope this morning’s sunny skies bring lots of momentum and a great start to your week. Now for updates!
I am happy to report that last week we got our formal notification that the California State Fire Marshal and the State Board of Fire Services have accredited ÃÈ·µ¼º½ as a regional training program. This accreditation is valid for five years! ÃÈ·µ¼º½ trains fire professionals for the entire state of California.
On April 21, the Workforce Development Office collaborated with the Outreach Office on the virtual Career Education Showcase. The event featured an overview of ÃÈ·µ¼º½, the website, and the eight Academic and Career Communities (ACC). A total of 205 current and prospective students participated in the main session and the ACC breakout sessions. This was a true collaborative effort among 5 administrators, 10 classified staff, and 36 faculty, including 20 department chairs, who presented over 45 career education programs. Over 545 individuals signed up to receive the webinar recordings and slides. The and the breakout session recordings will be posted on the ÃÈ·µ¼º½ Career Education webpage.
