This course provides an overview of basic physiology and pharmacology including how chemicals are administered and metabolized, The systemic, behavioral, and psychological effects of addiction, along with the latest clinical research and evidence-based treatment practices, are reviewed.
This section is part of the Addiction & Recovery Counseling Program (ARC). This class requires in-person meetings, live online meetings and the use of Canvas. In-person meetings will take place on select Mondays: 1/13, 2/3, 2/24, 3/10, 3/24, 4/14, 4/28, 5/12 from 5:10 – 8:00pm at Ocean Campus. Live online meetings take place on select Mondays: 1/27, 2/10, 3/3, 3/17, 4/7, 4/21, 5/5, 5/19 from 5:10 – 7:00pm and require the use of CityZoom, Zoom’s web conferencing platform in Canvas, using an internet enabled device.
