An introduction to scientific and biological principles through the study of humans as exemplary organisms. Lectures and laboratory exercises will explore current scientific issues, develop critical thinking skills, and examine the structure and function of the human body in relation to health and disease.
This class meets in person and is 17.5 weeks long. All coursework is completed on Canvas using an internet enabled device. We will be using the zero-cost Open Educational Resource (OER), Human Biology by Wakim & Grewal. This resource is free of charge to students and is accessed through Canvas. The ÃÈ·µ¼º½ Bio9 Lab Manual will be accessible free of charge via Canvas, for you to print and bring to class. If you would like a hard copy of the Bio9 Lab Manual, this is available for purchase at the ÃÈ·µ¼º½ bookstore for $25. If you do not purchase a hard copy of the lab manual, you will be responsible for printing the lab manual instructions and worksheets for the labs done in class.
