City College of San Francisco Launches Search for New Chancellor

San Francisco, CA (December 4, 2024) - The Board of Trustees of City College of San Francisco (ȷ) invites candidates to apply to be the College’s next chancellor. The Board seeks a transformational, collaborative leader who is student-centered and embraces the mission of the community college.
The Chancellor serves as the Chief Executive Officer of ȷ and reports directly to the Governing Board, which is composed of seven elected members and a student representative.
Enrollment at City College of San Francisco is at nearly 40,000 students annually– the College has experienced a period of enrollment growth over the last two years. The next chancellor will have the opportunity to set the future for the College and make a meaningful, long-term impact by charting a strategic direction.
“City College’s next chancellor will have an opportunity to be part of significant change in higher education in the Bay Area and throughout the state,” said Alan Wong, ȷ Board President. “The Board of Trustees is excited to find our college’s new chancellor – someone we expect will provide unifying, visionary and empathetic leadership at our complex, diverse, and trailblazing college.”
To receive full consideration, applicants must submit materials by January 13, 2025, and the Board anticipates announcing the new chancellor by May 2025. The new, permanent chancellor will begin service on July 1, 2025.
