Catalog Description

An introduction to the roles and core competencies of Community Health Workers (CHW) and the requirements of the ÃÈ·­µ¼º½ CHW Certificate Program. Students will learn key public health concepts and models for providing person-centered services, and assess their readiness and interest in the CHW Certificate Program.

Section Notes

This class requires in-person meetings, live online meetings and the use of Canvas. In-person meetings will take place on select Wednesdays: 2/26, 3/12, 3/26 from 5:40pm-8:30pm at Ocean Campus. Live online meetings take place on select Wednesdays: 3/5, 3/19, 4/9 from 5:40-8:30pm and require the use of CityZoom, Zoom’s web conferencing platform in Canvas, using an internet enabled device.
